Honed Granite Tear Drop Hearth

Honed granite hearths are perfect for customers who are wanting to install a freestanding stove, but do not have a traditional constructional hearth. These 20mm thick hearths are designed to sit on any floor, including wood flooring and carpet. All you need to do is ensure your stove is approved not to exceed 100°c on the base (this should be in the technical specification of the stove you are purchasing). This hearth is 1050 x 1050mm, and is designed to be placed in the corner of a room. The large size ensures you have the space to comfortably and safely position your stove, with plenty of room for fireside tools. A large granite hearth is also ideal for adding weight and presence to your stove, no matter its size.

All of our stone hearths are expertly honed finished and have a smooth, elegant appearance. The matte finish goes very well with the majority of stoves that are also finished this way.

Caring for Your New Hearth

As a natural stone product, each Teardrop Honed Granite Hearth may exhibit variations in markings and patterning, adding to its unique charm and character.

All of our stone hearths arrived unsealed. They can either remain this way, or you have the freedom to choose your desired finish. It is very important to ensure that your hands are clean prior to touching the stone. Care is also required when manoeuvring your stove onto the hearth, as they can scratch easily, especially when unsealed. We would suggest placing something on top of the hearth and lifting it out once in place.  

Due to the weight of the stone combined with your stove, there will be no need for fixing. Please note that sealant or fixing materials may alter the colour or leave marks on the stone over time.
